Complete Dentures

Complete dentures replace all of your natural teeth in the upper or lower jaw (or both). Without the support of teeth or dentures, facial muscles can sag, making you look older than you are. A well-fitted denture restores your facial structure and lets you eat and speak comfortably—things many of us take for granted until our natural teeth are gone.

We offer two types of complete dentures:

• Conventional full dentures are made and placed after your remaining teeth are removed and your gums have fully healed, which typically takes several months.
• Immediate complete dentures are inserted the same day your remaining teeth are removed. We take measurements and create models of your jaw at a preliminary visit, so you never have to go without teeth during the healing period.

Implant-Retained Overdentures

Traditional complete dentures rest on your gums and are held in place by suction and oral muscles. While many patients adjust well, some find conventional dentures feel loose or unstable, especially when eating or talking. Thanks to advances in implant dentistry, we can now anchor your complete denture securely to dental implants placed in your jawbone. These implant-retained overdentures offer dramatically improved stability and confidence.

Partial Dentures

If you've lost some—but not all—of your natural teeth, a partial denture can fill the gaps and prevent further problems. When teeth are missing, the remaining teeth can shift out of position, leading to bite changes, additional tooth loss, decay, and gum disease.

Partial dentures are custom-made from molds of your jaw. They're held in place by small clasps that attach to your remaining natural teeth. These clasps can be adjusted for a comfortable, customized fit. We also offer Valplast partials, which use flexible, gum-colored clasps instead of traditional metal hooks. Valplast dentures are especially popular when clasps would otherwise be visible on front teeth, giving you a more natural, esthetic appearance.

Caring for Your Mouth with Dentures

Even if you wear full dentures, good oral hygiene is still essential. Each morning before inserting your dentures, gently brush your gums, tongue, and palate with a soft-bristled brush. This stimulates circulation, removes plaque, and keeps your mouth healthy.
