Keeping Your Smile Healthy for Life

Our preventive care ensures the continued good health of your gums and teeth. We'll also take special care of existing dental work and any implants or prostheses you may have. In the process, we develop customized preventive plans for both children and adults.

Prevention is the foundation of great oral health. Regular visits help us catch small problems early—before they become painful or expensive. We partner with you to build healthy habits that last a lifetime.

Our Prevention Services Include

Routine Checkups
We create a personalized recall system for every patient to help prevent gingivitis and periodontitis, the leading causes of tooth loss. Regular visits allow us to monitor your oral health and address concerns before they escalate.

Sealants and Fluoride
Your child's teeth need to last a lifetime. We provide sealants on permanent molars to help prevent decay in the deep grooves where cavities often start. After every cleaning, we offer fluoride treatment—recommended by the American Dental Association—to strengthen enamel and protect against decay.

X-rays
X-rays are an integral diagnostic tool that help us detect periodontal disease (bone loss), infections, and tooth decay that aren't visible during a visual exam. The earlier we find these conditions, the easier and more affordable the treatments are.

A Partnership in Your Health

We believe prevention is a team effort. During every visit, we'll take time to answer your questions, explain what we're seeing, and give you practical tips to care for your teeth at home. Our goal is to help you feel confident and informed about your oral health.

How it works
01

Comprehensive Exam

We check your teeth, gums, and existing dental work, looking for early signs of decay, gum disease, or other concerns.

02

Professional Cleaning

We remove plaque and tartar buildup that brushing and flossing can't reach, then polish your teeth for a fresh, clean feeling.

03

Protective Treatments

We apply fluoride or sealants as needed to strengthen enamel and protect vulnerable areas from decay.

04

Personalized Plan

We discuss what we found, answer your questions, and create a customized plan to keep your smile healthy until your next visit.

Common questions
How often should I come in for a checkup?+

Most patients benefit from a checkup and cleaning every six months. We'll create a personalized recall schedule based on your oral health needs—some patients do well with annual visits, while others need more frequent care to manage gum disease or other concerns.

Are dental X-rays safe?+

Yes. Modern digital X-rays use very low levels of radiation—far less than older film X-rays. We only take X-rays when necessary to detect problems we can't see during a visual exam, such as decay between teeth, infections, or bone loss.

At what age should my child start getting sealants?+

We typically apply sealants when the permanent molars come in, usually around age 6 for the first molars and age 12 for the second molars. Sealants protect the deep grooves where cavities most often start, giving your child's teeth the best chance at staying healthy.
